First post of 2017 and......I'm sick

While everyone was celebrating new year, writing down new resolutions, or having hangover the next day, here I was, lying on my bed resting, hoping that the excruciating pain from my throat will go away as soon as possible.

Yeap, I'm sick on new year and on my birthday. What a good way to start a new year.

First, the symptoms looked like just a normal fever and cold.
However, prayer and pills didn't work at all, the pain from my throat was getting worse.
So I googled. It turned out that I probably had an infection, I self diagnosed it as strep throat.
So I was thinking hard from where did I get these germs?

Mama suggested that I probably got it from my uncle's house while doing major house cleaning.
Come to think of it, yeah, that's right!
I either got these germs from the ant nest on the floor, wasp nest under the wall beam, spider webs on the ceiling or dust germs everywhere! And I inhaled all that into my nose, my mouth! Urgh!
Curiously I'm the only one who got sick! Mummy said that's because my body immune system is weak.

Lesson learnt, be sure to wear a mask if you're cleaning a very dusty house, especially if you know that you have a weak body immune system.

However let's look on the bright side, my uncle's house is now looking fabulous!
I'll write that story in another post.
And, I got the princess treatment from mama.
Hence, I just wanna thank my mama for taking good care of me while I'm sick.
If you're taking care of a patient and can't seem to do anything about the pain, just give them a hug.
Warm hugs helped a bit in soothing the discomfort.

Getting sick means you can't simply eat anything you like. I can't even have the most basic ingredient in every household - egg, therefore on for my birthday, I had nothing but plain old porridge with carrots and chicken cooked to become mushy so that I can swallow them easily. I gotta tell ya, it wasn't easy. The swallowing part feels like hell in my larynx. So let's take a moment and appreciate our overlooked little organ shall we.

So, I pray that my sickness will go away as soon as possible and won't fall sick again, especially during Chinese New Year. I would suffer in agony if I can't have all those scrumptious delicacies.

Can't wait for Chinese New Year already! Especially the food!
